Summary

We are hiring an experienced Industrial Painter to support our rapidly expanding paint division. This position will work closely with the shop fabrication team to ensure deadlines are met and field installations can proceed on time. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the production process as well as assist with quality control and visual inspection.

This position is based out of our main shop in Prince George, BC.

Main Duties

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sand blasting, grinding, and applying appropriate primers as per customer specifications.
  • Reference Safety Data Sheets and internal safety procedures to verify proper PPE requirements and hazard mitigation for volatile industrial solvents and paints.
  • Consistently apply paint with smooth and even coverage using spray guns, brushes, or rollers
  • Set up and operate painting equipment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Mix paints and chemicals according to specifications.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting finished work for imperfections.
  • Operate mobile equipment including forklifts and telehandlers to move large loads around the shop and yard.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experienced with industrial painting equipment and techniques
  • Knowledge of different types of paints and industrial coatings and their uses
  • Ability to safely use grinders, hand tools, and powered tools
  • Familiarity with operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
  • Physical fitness including the ability to stand for long periods, lift 50lbs, bend and twist, and avoid strain from repetitive motion tasks
