Job Summary
Omineca Fabricating is hiring Journeyperson Welders, Ironworkers, and Metal Fabricators to join us in Cottage Grove, Oregon for a multi-phase industrial construction project. The ideal candidate has a Certificate of Qualification in their chosen field of expertise and at least 3 years of experience working on large-scale industrial projects. Experience in sawmills and/or wood processing facilities is preferred. Other trades with extensive welding and fabrication experience may be considered and are encouraged to apply.
A day in the life of a Metal Worker at Omineca Fabricating will include using their advanced skills and knowledge of a variety of welding and fabrication processes to ensure work is completed on time and to a high quality standard. Shift Details:
- Rotation work
- Two weeks on, two weeks off
- Opportunities for interstate travel
- Overtime is required
Location of Worksite:
- Cottage Grove, Oregon
- Other states as operational needs require
Main Duties:
- Utilize state of the art metal forming and fusing processes to meet quality standards with minimal supervision.
- Minimum SMAW, GMAW, FCAW - 6G
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure proper assembly .
- Complete precise and accurate work.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following and implementing all Safe Work Practices and Procedures.
- Model and uphold the Company rules, policies, and performance expectations.
- Act as a brand ambassador and contribute to a positive corporate culture.
- Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications.
- Rig, hoist and safely move large and complex loads.
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits.
- Install fabricated components in a final product.
- Work safely at heights, confined spaces, and in challenging environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Complete all site specific safety and quality training as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years working as a journeyperson in your chosen trade taking on progressively more responsibility and authority.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, plan the flow of work, set up equipment and layout materials to maximize productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a high-hazard environment.
- Strong work ethic and time management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to contribute positively to a skilled trades team.
- Understanding of due diligence and ability to complete detailed and accurate reports as required.
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
- The following additional training is considered an asset:
- Occupational First Aid
- Certification for Structural Steel and/or Aluminum welding processes
- Certification for Pipe and Pressure Welding
- OSHA-training
- Fall protection Training
- Equipment Operation (Forklift, Telehandler, etc.)
